By Haru

Sup guys, welcome to rankai. My name’s Haru.

So what the hell is this blog all about? For the most part, I made this blog for figure ranting–I’ve been a figure collector for several years now. It’s a hobby that I love spending my time and money on.

There was a time in my life where I completely stopped buying due to financial reasons, and other things took my interest/&money as well orz. After that I rekindled my love for figures all over again and started collecting once more. Since then I’ve amounted quite a nice collection of figures that I’m proud of. Although, most of them I’ve put away due to lack of space; I leave the new figures outside for me to ogle at. I mostly try to stick with collecting figures of characters I like, however, sometimes I stray into buying figures that I like merely for their aesthetic appeal. In the end I choose quality over quantity; it all comes down to the paint job, face, pose, and sculpt!

I’m a huge sucker for anything Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, Death Note, One Piece, Gintama, and Fullmetal Alchemist. So usually you’ll see me buying a lot of merch from those series; the usual chara goods and figures.

Also, I’M A BIG WHORE FOR Medicom RAH’s. I got into them a couple of years back. I’m more into their anime line than anything else. I have to sell an organ every time I buy one. But regardless of their hefty price I’m happy to have them in my collection; the money spent on these babies is totally worth it in the end. Hmm, should have added my “L” RAH in the pic above. He’s sitting on my desk and I play with him more than I should. ^^;;;

There are many figures out there that I’d love to get my hands on still, must haves, but sometimes one may just not have the budget for it ( T AT);;;. But I try my best in the end to acquire what I want. And it doesn’t help any when there are new figures coming out every few months.

To summarize this up, this blog is basically a random little thing to for me to talk about my simple interests; BL/Yaoi, figures, gunpla, games, music, anime, and lots of other stuff! Hopefully, if any of you out there stumble upon it, I hope you’ll find something interesting in here that’ll tickle your fancy and will join in for the fun. ^^

A Little Side Note:
This isn’t a blog where people should expect me to post something everyday or every week–or anything with “amazing” content, for that matter– ORZ. I have a life so sometimes I might not be able to post for days or weeks on end.

      Thank you! ^^
      I’ve been wanting to do just that but I think I will wait until I buy more shelf space and unbox all those figures I have in the closet. ^^;;;

    Hey Haru,

    I’ve been looking around for figures of my own. I’m interested in getting figures from the Grandline Men set, mainly Ace, Luffy, Kid and Law. Where do you get your models? I live in California, and I was wondering if you get them off hobby stores or websites. Could you direct me to the right place that is trustworthy and reasonably priced? I also looked on eBay for these figures, but the price discretion is very high, and a lot of them come from Hong Kong or China, so I have a feeling they are fake. Please help me out! Feel free to email me because I have no idea how to use wordpress haha

      Hi there, Jerry!

      For the most part, I buy all my figures from HobbyLink Japan ( — very trustworthy and reasonably priced online hobby/figure store which is based in Japan. Also, should you keep track of a figures’ pre-order date, HLJ has Early-Birds for every single figure they first list; you save 5% off the regular price. Their shipping is reasonable too; you can either choose FedEx, EMS, or SAL. Right now HLJ is having a 20% off on EMS shipping until June 30th, so it’s a good thing to take advantage of that! ;)

      They also provide shipping estimates to your destination on every figures’ page–which are quite accurate.

      As for the Grand Line Men figures, you can find them on HLJ for roughly $15 here: or just type One Piece Grand Line Men in HLJ’s search. However, it looks like Ace is out of stock and don’t have him listed anymore.

      If you look to the right menu under ONLINE HOBBY SHOPS in my blog, you’ll see a list of trustworthy online figures stores which I’ve used before and highly rec. Some stores are based in the US while others are based in Japan.

      I really don’t recommend shopping for figures on eBay at all, especially if the seller is from Hong Kong or China–you’ll most likely get a bootleg.

      I hope I was of any help. Good luck figure shopping! ^^
