What the heck, MegaHouse. I want this in color not gold-plated. The sculpt looks hot and lol the mayo.
Unless they release a colored version I won’t be getting this. And I thought that was a whip he was holding–mayo whip! Quite disturbing yet amusing in a way… lol.
And knowing Hijikata, he must have gone through great lengths to get his hands on that expensive golden mayo.
I hadn’t really planned to post about Wonfes. I didn’t see anything that would immediately go on my figure get-list. Sure, I did see a lot of fucking amazing figures–like those goddamn Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master figures that are tempting me so much it’s ridiculous–and all those K-ON! figures too, however, they’re not priorities. I was expecting for GSC to showcase the Sengoku BASARA nendoroid prototypes but I didn’t see them. I was also expecting for MegaHouse to show G.E.M. Hijikata but didn’t see him anywhere either. And whatever happened to that Ciel nendoroid? What’s the hold up, GSC?!?! My Sebastian is lonely. ( ; w;)–ahh so disappointing.
Oh, but wait, I did see those One Piece figures by MegaHouse again! Time to rant about them and other figures I thought were awesome.
Oh wow, long time no post? lolol. Sorry for the absence to those who read my blog, orz. I took a little unexpected hiatus but I guess I’m back now? … sorta. And it’s almost Christmas too! ^^
I’ve been so out of touch with the whole figure thing, so I’m behind on a lot of stuff, aaaaah! However, I’ve been trying to keep up with a few fellow figure blogs that I keep track of. ^^;
Anyway, a quick random post because I have to squee about this. Jump Festa was recently held in Makuhari Messe from December 19th-20th and ohmygod, MegaHouse you amaze me sometimes.
The MegaHobby Expo event, which will run through October 2nd-4th, will be held in Akihabara UDX. A bunch of early coverage from the usual sources has been released and oh boy, MegaHouse is on a roll adding more to their P.O.P series. Then again, I guess that’s what was to be expected after their announcement at Chara Hobby 2009 of their upcoming 1/8 Luffy Strong Edition, and 1/8 Tony Tony Chopper Strong Edition figures.
Oh, now how in the world did I overlook this. Hobby Round is a new hobby event organized by Volks to announce their upcoming products and sell limited edition resin kits and PVC figures. It’s a two-day event with the first day assigned as Figure Day and Mecha Day on the following day. The second round just took place this past September, 20th. I did not follow the coverage for this event, since I’m pretty sure most of the stuff on display had already been shown at recent hobby events like Wonder Festival and Chara Hobby.
What I overlooked was that Volks will be releasing a pre-painted version of the statue Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann which measures at a height of 32cm. No info on price or release date as of yet.
The Chara Hobby 2009 event opened its doors Saturday in Japan and has already come to an end. The event took place in Makuhari Messe and ran throughout the weekend, August 29-30. I’ve been stalking my usual sources for the event since the event started and quite honestly nothing really caught my interest this time around. Yeah, there were a few eye catching figures and very gorgeous ones but not something to make me jizz my pantsu over and make it on my GET list–well maybe a figure or two but that’s it, orz. I also wanted to wait for the second day of the event to post about it in one go in case some new stuff popped up. Very image heavy after the jump.
Finally, the Gundam wedding took place. The Wedding Planning company, T&G (Take & Give) had a special wedding ceremony planned for one lucky couple this past Tuesday 25th August at 8:45pm. The couple were picked from the many 548 entries back in July.
Here’s a subtitled video (ganked via JapanProbe) of the special wedding ceremony that was held at the base of the 1/1 Gundam RX-78. Naturally, there was cosplay. The groom, dressed as Amuro Ray escorted his normally-dressed bride down the Gundam alter. The couple had been married, but had not held a formal wedding ceremony until now. Now how amazing is that? Hands down, best wedding ever. What an amazing way to kick off your marriage.
