Bandai’s Armor Plus EX gear featuring Alto Saotome

FIG-IPN-0584_02I remember I used to rant to a friend about how much I wanted some decent scaled male Macross Frontier figures–I’m still hoping MegaHouse will release some nice ones in the near future as part of their G.E.M. line. However, Bandai has beaten everyone to the curve by releasing this articulated Alto.

This highly poseable Alto figure will come with his removable EX-gear flight suit, rifle, interchangeable heads, and optional hands. Wings are expandable and a pilot seat display base will also be included. He’s going to be released this September 2009 at a retail price of 7,875yen. Pre-orders are up over at Hobby Search and HobbyLink Japan!

FUCK YEAH, BANDAI. Now give us a Michel.

With all these August/September releases I fear for my wallet. It will cry. More images after the jump! — Via; Tomopop/Tamashii website

Uplark’s Viral Color Prototype

uplark-viral1-2As much as I love all those Yoko figures that have been (and are still being) released, I think it’s time to give the other Gurren Lagann characters a little figure lovin’.

Uplark (formarly Eye Up) have updated their website with official images of their upcoming Viral, now painted!

He’ll be measuring at a 1/8 scale and will stand about 155mm (about 6in.). The look on his face captures Viral’s character perfectly! Really digging the paint job they’ve done on him. I’m totally pre-ordering this badass baby. Now I wonder how their Nia figure will turn out. If it’s just as good I might get it. Was not a fan of Eye Up’s Yoko so I didn’t end up getting her. Now where is Simon?!

As of yet, there’s still no pre-order available, but he’ll be released this September for 7,800yen.

Kuji Club’s Lord Genome

kujipremium-lordgenomeHacchaka has a nice photo review of Lord Genome from the recently released Gurren Lagann Kuji Club Premium Set. He looks absolutely stunning and very fucking GAR. I need to go raid Y!J and get my hands on the Gurren Lagann Giga Drill and Lord Genome figures, ohgod. But I wonder just how much I’ll end up paying in the end. I’m too broke right now. ZETSUBOUSHITAAAA!

Entire photo review here! ETA: Kaijin also has an amazing photo review here! AND OTHERS TOO ORZ.

A Preview of UpLark’s Viral figure!

uplark-viral3Finally, what I’ve been waiting for–what we’ve all been waiting for! UpLark (formally known as Eye Up) have given us a little preview on their blog of their soon-to-be newest addition to their Gurren Lagann figures, Viral! After they announced back in February about them making Nia and Viral figures I’ve been anxiously waiting for them to show us a preview, and it’s about damn time!

This upcoming Viral figure is currently in its prototype stage, but hopefully we’ll see a painted version soon! His pose has been modeled after the 5th DVD cover of the Gurren Lagann TV series (Japanese version). He measures at a scale of 1/8 and from what I read on their blog he’s due to be released sometime in August or September!

Fffffff, this is going to be such an amazing figure and he’ll look great next to my Eye Up Kamina~ I’M SO FUCKING EXCITED FOR THIS! Now all we need is a time-skip Simon!–preferably GARLOCK SIMON.

New Figure Reservations! Sheryl Nome & Gintoki

alphaomega-sherylnome2Although I’m a huge fan of Macross Frontier, I’m not the hugest fan of Sheryl Nome. She annoyed me in the anime most of the time, orz. But that doesn’t mean I won’t try to get my hands on a few Sheryl Nome figures–especially if she’s wearing her Dominatrix Cop Outfit, she looks rather hot in it, I daresay. When it comes to figures, I’m a whore for them, expecially if they are sculpted nicely, and this is such a lovely Sheryl figure that I must have. So maybe I might just pre-order her. Now I only wish MegaHouse would do some nice Macross F. male figures–I’d buy those in a heartbeat!

Sheryl Nome, of Macross Frontier, measures at a scale of 1/8 (21cm). She’s scheduled to be released in August 2009. Retailing at 6,800yen. More pics of Sheryl over at Amiami. She’s available for pre-order over at Hobby Search.

megahouse-gintoki2-1Now here’s a little problem, orz, MegaHouse has a new release from their latest G.E.M. lineup (which is geared towards female customers, btw), Sakata Gintoki! He measures at a scale of 1/8 (24.5cm), and will be released this August 2009. Retailing at 6,600yen. More pics of Gintoki over at Amiami. Gintoki also up for pre-order over at Hobby Search. I think I’ll wait for HLJ to put him up.

He looks fabulous! I’m definintely pre-ordering him. It’s funny tho, when I got my MegaHouse Zero/Lelouch in the mail a few days ago I was thinking what figure will they release next for their G.E.M. lineup, and ohoho, IT’S GINTOKI!

It seems the G.E.M. lineup will be good for those who collect male figures.

But anyway, the ‘little problem‘, I’d rather get my hands on Gintoki than Sheryl. Not sure if I can afford to buy both as I have other pre-orders that’ll be filled by July/August. So I’m in a pinch Σ(゜д゜;) WAT! Knowing me tho, I’ll end up getting Sheryl in the end, somehow, lolol.

avatar_soravol1This isn’t the first time I’ve ogled at this cute Sora figure. I’ve been debating whether to pre-order him or not; its cuteness compels me to pre-order him asap! I’m also wondering what other characters they’re planning to make, since they are calling this Sora their first in the series; perhaps a Riku might be next? I really hope so! If that’s the case, then I might just have to get both!

This Avatar Static Art Sora is scheduled to be released this August 2009 and retails at 13,440yen, and measures at about 10 inches tall. He’s now up for pre-order over at HLJ and  Hobby Search. He’s also been up for pre-order over at KidNemo for a couple of months now.

Oh, and these cute keychains, do waaaant!

I’m wondering whether to grab the “early bird” over at HLJ, but argh, I’m still undecided–he is quite pricey… and I do have other pre-orders being filled at the end of this month… orz.

Tamashii Nation 2009 – Tieria in a dress

This deserves its own post.

This is the first thing that caught my eye from the Tamashii Nation exhibition earlier today when I was browsing thru all the coverage. Tieria in a dress as seen in episode 8. It’s not the best sculpt and you can clearly see the quality is off in some places but overall it’s an ok figure and VERY DO WANT. The figure seems like its a bit small (and gun too), maybe give or take 5 inches? But I might be wrong… AND OH, THAT GARTER STRAP. /lusting

Unsure of release date but will update/edit once I find out, orz.

It’s a bit disappointing that their aren’t many high quality figures for this series. I don’t know what figure manufacturer, perhaps MegaHouse(?), should ttly make 1/8 scale G00 figs of the Meisters. Yes, Banpresto has made some nice ones of the females but we want some of the boys too, fffffflol. /RANT

tamashii_19-2Here’s Tieria in his  CB unfiorm that he wears throughout the entire season 2 of Gundam 00. VERY DO WANT. And look at those hips! (゜O゜;). Those are some tight pants… ahem.

EDIT: If I saw correctly (in one of the coverage images), Tieria might be a bit bigger than what I originally thought. Looks like he measures at a scale of 1/8. Not sure about Dress!Tieria, it might be the same scale too. But then again, I might be wrong–he just looked a bit big compared to the other figures that were around him. I srsly hope these aren’t portrait figures. Tho they do look kinda like trading figures.

Aaaaaaah! I’ll probably ramble about the other neat stuff Tamashii Nations had up once I get home.
